Governor
Ernie Fletcher formed the Louisville Arena Task Force to explore the
best way to build a new multi-purpose arena in the commonwealth's
largest study. He instructed the Task Force that he wanted the process
to be as open and inclusive as possible, and that the city's economic
development interests and the needs University of Louisville receive
prime consideration.
The Governor
appointed Lieutenant Governor Steve Pence of Louisville to chair
the Task Force. In accordance with the Governor's instructions,
Chairman Pence appointed an Executive Committee consisting of U.S.
Senator Mitch McConnell, U.S. Representative Anne Northup, Metro
Mayor Jerry Abramson, and himself as a non-voting member. The Lieutenant
Governor also assigned Task Force members to one or more Working
Groups. |
